Aviation is both an interest and a passion shared by enthusiasts and ‘old hands’ alike. The charm of the skies and the sleek forms that call it their home have long caught the attention of one and all.
‘There and Back’ is dedicated to sharing, discussing and explaining the craft of flight. Through words and images, insights will be offered and mysteries dispelled. Our goal is not to rewrite text-books; far from it.
Airmanship will remain ever-present as we examine the vast array of aviation topics through an easy-to-read style. We would rather describe the tones of a sunset, than the time of its occurrence to six decimal points.
We will cater for the diverse spectrum of visitors too. From Robert Brus’ enthusiastic private pilot perspective, right through to Owen Zupp’s 15,000 hours of flight and instructional experience. There will literally be something for everyone.
‘There and Back is not merely for those who occupy cockpits, but for anyone who has ever squinted skyward at the sound of an aircraft. We look forward to you joining us for the journey and encourage your feed back and comments in our blog.
The cowls were removed to show the cause of my drama – A cylinder head on the Continental IO-520 engine had separated.
